Title: One early type of movement from highlands to lowlands
Posted by: Andrew Lancaster

Hi everyone

Those of you who are connected to the DNA project  may have noted a discussion recently wherein we all realized that we have two quite seperate families who appear to have moved from the highlands to the coal mines of Fife.

One is recorded as having used a variant of MacLay and the other was a Livingstone family (and therefore, I suppose, potentially a lowland family).

This was apparently a type of life which was not far from slavery.

I felt this discussion was of a type which is also interesting to this forum.

Best Regards
Andrew
