Title: Livingstoun's of Mull circa 1716

From time to time I have mentioned the theory that Duncan McOnlea (or McInlea)of Bachuil had changed the name of the clan sometime in the 1750's. WHether that is correct or not it is fair to say that almost all of the clan in the highlands changed their name to Livingstone by the next decade or two.

But as David has pointed out there are some Livingstones or Livingstons in Kilmore Parish  on the Island of Islay in the Argyll records as early as the 1720's. ANd Bob Turcott last summer submitted four Argyll entries from The Island of Mull circa 1716 that listed a Hugh Livingstoun at Kilmore,Quinish, Duncan Livingstoun at Ardmore, Mishnish and John Livingstoun at Mingarie, Quinish. I think the source for these 1716 records may have been "Inhabitants of Movern and Arnamurchan 1716" by the Scottish REcord Society.
