Title: Clans of the Appin Regiment
Posted by: Kyle MacLea

After consulting with Donald, who has compared the various lists of Appin Regiment participants and put together a 'master list,' we feel pretty strongly that we have arrived at as good of compilation of Appin Regiment clans as we can.

This uses the following sources:
Captain Stewart's circa 1746
Alexander Stewart's List circa 1880
Muster Roll (Baron Alistair Livingstone's book "No Quarter Given")
Monument in Tynribbie, Appin (which formerly stood at the gravesite in Culloden) circa 1880

Appin Regiment 1745-1746
Stewart, McColl, McLaren, Carmichael, MacCombich, MacCormack or Buchanan, MacIntyre, MacInnes, MacLea or Livingstone, Mackenzie, MacLachlan, Cameron, McRankin, MacCorquodale, MacIlduie or Black, MacArthur, Henderson, MacDonald, MacUchader

There is also the individual Haldane listed, although his Clan actually fought with the Government troops and as a result his clan is not properly listed here.

The list is undoubtedly incomplete, but barring the discovery of new documents is unlikely to ever be complete.

Thanks to Donald for putting this together!
