Virginia Jamieson has recently forwarded the following information regarding the descendants of John Livingstone, the brother of Neil Livingstone of Ulva and the uncle of Dr. David Livingstone of Blantyre.  Virginia's sources include research done by her husband's relatives, as well as family heirlooms including a little 1793 edition of "The Psalms of David" with the inscription, "Presented to Mary Livingston by her grandfather John Livingston, Ariogan, May 10th 1850".  In turn, the book was inscribed "Mary Livingston, Rutherglen.  Presented to Flora Jamieson December 25th, 1890". The information connecting John L. (b. 1777) with Neil Livingston and Mary Morrison of Ulva was found in the marriage record of John's daughter, Flora (b. 1806).  This marriage record also indicated that John and his wife, Flora McLean only had three daughters - no sons!  So any male Livingstones found further down the family tree would have received that surname from a Livingstone other than John (such as Archibald Livingstone of Benderloc who married John's daughter Flora). 1.  Neil Livingstone      x  Mary Morrison, m. 27 Dec 1774 at Lettermore.      2.  John Livingstone, b. 13 Apr 1777 at Lettermore.           x  Flora McLean, b. 2 May 1780; dau. of Donald McLean and               Mary Levingston.           3.  Flora Livingstone, b. Virginia has further information regarding the Jamiesons descendants who settled in America. On several occasions they were visited by the descendants of Neil Livingstone (b. 1845) who settled in Australia.  Virginia is in touch with these relatives and will share information about them when it becomes available.
