Hi All,

New project to keep me busy. I starting a Red River Livingston Research Center, the purpose of which is to collect primary and secondary sources of information on the Selkirk Settlement and the Red River Livingstones principally Miles Livingston, Donald Livingston and Donald Livingston's father Neil and other siblings that were at the Selkirk's Red River Settlement between 1812 and 1840.

I have located a number of books on Red River Settlement from the 1800's and 1900's and am in the process of  organizing over the next several months information from primary archive sources on the Red River Livingstons.

I was quite excited this week to find more information on the schooner "Staffa" that is mentioned in Miles Livingston's marriage record from the Bowmore,(kilarrow) Isle of Islay parish book, which took Miles Livingston, Donald Livingston and other settlers from Mull and the Island of Islay to Sligo, Ireland where Hudson Bay Company vessel "Robert Taylor" was waiting in June of 1812 to take them to the Hudsons Bay port and fort at York Factory on their way to Lord Selkirk's Red River Settlement.

Part of this project is to eventually create a comprehensive index of Red River Livingston related documents in Canadian and British archives.
