Hi All,

Lots of people taking their summer holidays this time of year and it is quiet here at the forum. Good time to catch up on your reading while on vacation. Two excellent books focusing on the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745 are John Prebble's classic "Culloden" published in 1961 and more recently military historian, Christopher Duffy's book "The 45". Both books are well written and present the facts in a fair, balanced and impartial manner which is not always the case with historians covering this period of Scottish history. As Highland Clan MacLea (Livingstone)participated in the Appin Regiment and were at the Battle of Culloden in 1746 it is well worth the effort to familiarize oneself with the details of the 1745 Rebellion.
