Dear Forum,

I found this reference which many of you may have seen (not sure).

http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/manxsoc/msvol25/ch102.htm

In it, this is mentioned of the origin of the name "Isle of Man":

"The Manksmen have a tradition yt at their coming of their apostle St. Patrick,' they had a king whom they call Manna-Man-Maclea, him they held to have been the first yt did conquer them, and yt ye Island of him took ye name of Man, and hath ever since retained it unto this day."

I don't know if this is a transcription error or something else, but I saw "Maclea" and thought I'd send it out in case anyone had some thoughts.

Kyle
