No gaelic knowledge myself, but looking around for similar to 'a shiol Chuinn cheud-chathach' on Google, does this have something to do with "Conn of the 100 Battles"? If so, could he mean that Robert Livingstone was thought by the writer to have been a descendant of Conn? (Pure speculation here, since the 'a shiol' portion was only found on non-English websites that I couldn't understand.) Still, given the fictional/mythological/political nature of the early genealogies, any proof for this seems hard to come by! Anyway, always read these messages with interest! Thanks, Jane!
